After many years of painting in an impressionistic style, always trying to express the feeling of a subject rather than represent the actual subject, I have felt a real pull towards more abstract and non-objective work. For the past several years I have been working on abstracting landscapes and doing non-objective work that gives the feeling of an idea, place or time. I work in series to be able to pursue an idea in several different ways.
Nancy Perry has won many awards in juried shows and has had one-woman and small group shows. She has studied with several internationally known artists and been included in publications including a painting in August 2004 “Watercolor Magic”, the Society of Layerists book The Art of Layering: Making Connections, The New Creative Artist by Nita Leland, and Steven Aimone’s Expressive Drawing.
