My work has emerged out of a tradition of non-figurative painting and is multi-layered in both form & content. It is fundamentally concerned with the relationship between the physical, psychological & spiritual being; exploring the lines of comunication, points of contact & drifts in meaning which occur.

Philip Oliver is a British artist based in the south west of France. Having obtained his B.A. (Hons) degree in fine art painting, at Winchester school of art (UK), Philip went on to cofound Jamaica St. Studios in Bristol which is still running to this day. In 2003 he relocated to France where he continues to paint in his own style influenced by his surroundings, thoughts and ideas, free from the restrictions governing figurative art.
