My style spans a range of surrealism and abstraction because emotions can sometimes be more powerfully expressed with a central focal point for personal identification. The use of human faces or eyes in some pieces provides clarity and emotional impact. Other pieces can be wholly abstracted, inviting the audience apply their own interpretation, which may change each time they view the artwork.
Teresa Young started painting in oils at the age of eight and expanded her skills with a strict discipline of drawing. Moving from realism into abstraction, she was able to develop techniques to create a vivid style that is detailed, visually appealing and technically disciplined. Often incorporating human elements into her style, she ranges from abstract expressionism to flowing surrealism.
